The laptop’s new design, screen, power, webcam, charging abilities and overall offering are absolutely top of the range. You can certainly see where the money is being spent. But it now hits your wallet in a way no previous MacBook Air did: it costs €400 more than the last MacBook Air M1 at launch. In the week I’ve spent testing the new MacBook Air M2, I’ve noticed a subtle shift in its core appeal. Whereas a MacBook Air traditionally appealed as much to students as to business travellers, the new laptop’s high pricing makes it more of a ‘premium’ laptop than one for the masses. It is now almost indistinguishable from a high-end MacBook Pro for the vast majority of users.

It seems that everytime I need to charge the battery, I have to remove the lower panel, unplug the battery, connect the charger and replug the battery, which is definitely not a long-term solution.Apple MacBook Air M2 now has MagSafe charging.However, as soon as I disconnect the magsafe charger with the battery plugged in and reconnect the charger again, it shows no light and doesn't charge the battery leading it back to square one. If I plug in the battery while magsafe is working, it also begins to charge and all seems to be ok. The laptop also powers on and works normally. The problem is, when the battery is unplugged, magsafe adapter shows green and amber lights and begins to work.I saw somewhere on the internet that if I unplug the battery after removing (unscrewing) the lower metal panel of the laptop, it started to work so I did it and it worked partially.I tried SMC and PRAM reset but nothing helped.Therefore, I eliminated the possibility of the magsafe malfunctioning. I have another macbook air and I swapped chargers for them but it turns out that both the chargers were working fine with the other laptop and none worked with the original one.There was no light on the magsafe adapter at all. It was working perfectly until one day it just did not charge. I have a MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014).
